Drawn to a house so neglected that few others would consider it, designer Mandy Cheng and architect Rory Reynolds embraced its flaws - and its bees - as an opportunity to build something bold.

Despite its rough shape, Mandy and her husband, Rory, were immediately drawn to this Los Angeles home.
